Fettle Extensions — Privacy Policy

This single policy covers every extension published by Fettle. It is hosted here and the same URL is used in each extension's "Privacy policy" field in the Chrome Web Store.

Summary

Fettle extensions are local-first. We do not operate any servers, we do not collect, store, sell or transmit your personal data, and we do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising of any kind.

What is stored, and where

Any settings or content you create (saved prompts, workspaces, target prices, custom rules, API keys) are stored only on your device using the browser's local chrome.storage. This data never leaves your computer and is never sent to us. Uninstalling the extension removes it.

Third-party requests (only where a feature needs public data)

Some extensions fetch public information directly from third-party APIs, from your browser, solely to provide their feature. These requests contain only what the feature needs (a search term, a package/repo name, a video ID, etc.):

These services have their own privacy policies, which govern those requests.

Bring-your-own-key (BYOK) extensions

GitHub PR Summarizer sends the pull-request diff directly from your browser to the AI provider you configure (e.g. Anthropic), authenticated with your own API key. Your key is stored locally and is sent only to that provider. We never receive your key, your prompts, or the responses.

Extensions that read page content locally

Some extensions read the content of the page you're on (e.g. the text in your ChatGPT/Claude composer for the token counter, or JSON on the page for the prettifier). This processing happens entirely in your browser and the content is never transmitted anywhere.

Permissions

storage — save your settings/content locally.
tabs — read the current tab's URL/title for the feature you invoked.
alarms — run a periodic local snapshot timer (Tab Session Auto-Saver).
clipboardWrite — copy generated text when you click Copy.
Host permissions — make the public-data requests listed above.

Children

These extensions are general-purpose tools and are not directed at children.
